Monitoring and recording biodiversity

Biodiversity Action Reporting system, more commonly known as BARS is the UK’s web based information system that supports the planning, monitoring and reporting requirements of national, local and company Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs). It also allows users to learn about the progress being made with local and national BAPs.

The actions of the Tees Valley BAP are reported on the BARS system. This enables partnership members to monitor progress. Our data is also used nationally to record progress on what is happening for biodiversity throughout the UK, especially useful for national priority species and habitats Biodiversity

The Bars website is open to all to view. Biodiversity partners are able to register as users, this enables them to view reports and add progress reports on their actions in the Habitat Action Plans (HAPs) and Species Action Plans (SAPs).
