Wildlife recorder

Surveying and monitoring wildlife and habitats is essential. The data gathered provides vital information on which conservation management programmes are based. There are a wealth of wildlife recording and monitoring projects currently taking place in the Tees Valley and throughout the UK.

The Tees Valley Biodiversity Action Plan relies on records of local wildlife records on which to set the targets and actions for its priority habitats and species programme.

By taking part in a wildlife survey you can learn new wildlife observation skills, meet like-minded people and do something positive for biodiversity. There is something for everyone, from simple postcard surveys for all the family, to more specialised projects for the enthusiast.

The website has links to local, regional and national wildlife surveys. This is by no means an exhaustive list, simply some suggestions.
