Environmental Youth Projects

Wild Youth Project

The Wild Youth Project was launched by the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust in December 2007 for young people aged 16 – 25 years. The project is an England-wide flagship youth volunteering project, delivered by the Wildlife Trusts on behalf of the Veolia Environmental Trust and V, the youth volunteering charity. The project aims to establish a Youth Ranger team on the River Tees Corridor Nature Reserves of Portrack Marsh and the Maze Park area.

Groundwork South Tees

Groundwork involves young people in a range of activities designed to bring them into contact with the wider community and to increase their own confidence and self-esteem. Their aim is to tackle youth crime and apathy by getting young people to play a full and active role in society.
