How the Tees Valley Biodiversity partnership is assisting

local and public authorities to deliver their “Biodiversity Duty”

The Tees Valley Biodiversity Partnership will be raising the awareness of the NERC Duty and supporting any action amongst public and local authorities in the Tees Valley of the NERC Duty in the following ways:

  • Making presentations at key meetings within local/public authorities and Local Strategic Partnerships groups.
  • Supporting local and public authority staff in rolling out the Act out in their authority by sharing best practice and providing guidance for reports and/or mechanisms of monitoring.
  • Contacting public authorities in Tees Valley who are not members of the Tees Valley Biodiversity Partnership with information and offers of support.
  • Distributing postcards and accessible poster guides with 4 case studies for public/local authorities as an initial way to raise their awareness
