Farmer/landowner
Agricultural practice plays a pivotal role in enhancing opportunities for biodiversity in the countryside of the Tees Valley and farmers can receive financial support for undertaking positive management for biodiversity.
In the Tees Valley Biodiversity Action Plan, barn owl, grey partridge, tree sparrow and corn bunting are priority species that are associated with farmland. Hedgerows, woodlands, ponds, unimproved grasslands and arable field margins are priority habitats that can occur on farmland.
